TOCCOA, Georgia. – Osborne Wood Products, Inc. celebrates 40 years of supplying decorative wood components to the woodworking, home improvement and furnishing trades. Founded in 1979 in the Appalachian foothills of Toccoa, the family business has grown into a leading manufacturer of wood furniture components and a high-tech logistics company.
The origins of Osborne Wood can be traced back four decades, when Leon and Janice Osborne began making wooden furniture components in their garage and selling them through a local cooperative. The company’s offering has grown, as has its 80,000 square foot manufacturing and distribution site equipped with state-of-the-art CNC carpentry equipment.
Notable changes over the years include the 1998 launch of its e-commerce website. In 2006, lean management tactics were used. In 2008 Osborne expanded using environmentally friendly products, and in 2012 introduced a complete table and other furniture kits.
Osborne Wood sells unfinished wood furniture components, hardware, acrylics, metal corbels, casters and wood project kits to cabinet makers, furniture makers, cabinet makers and hobbyists. It offers over 1,500 SKUs in 15 standard wood types, 92% of which are available for same day shipment. See http://www.OsborneWood.com.
