Faucett Forest Products becomes Joy Wood Products | News, Sports, Jobs

Faucett Forest Products in Peshtigo, Wisconsin has become Joy Wood Products.

PESHTIGO, Wisconsin – Faucett Forest Products, a sawmill and pallet company in Peshtigo, was acquired by Daryl and Maureen Joy and rebranded as Joy Wood Products.

The producer of wooden pallets, crates and pallets was seized and purchased in a sheriff’s sale by the Joys, who discovered the opportunity in the newspaper. The sawmill will complement one of their existing businesses, Mountain Woods Furniture.

“We cut wood to send it to the factory in Laramie, Wyoming, to make furniture,” said Daryl Joy.

Joy Wood Products retained the eight employees of Faucett, which had been in business since 1970, changing owners several times.

In October, Joy Wood Products obtained certification for the heat treatment of pallets used in the food industry as well as for international export. “All wood packaging material used in international shipments must be heat treated by a certified company” Daryl Joy explained.

Joy Wood Products also manufactures custom pallets. The manufacturer primarily serves northeastern Wisconsin and the upper peninsula of Michigan. Large orders can be shipped anywhere in the United States

Daryl Joy worked in the trucking industry for 34 years until Joy Trucking was sold. When he retired from the transportation industry, he had over 200 employees and 160 road trucks.

The Joys purchased Mountain Woods Furniture in December 2011. They also own and lease numerous commercial buildings in the area through Joy Properties. They are longtime Peshtigo residents and active in the community.
